The Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking applications for three day or weekend travel blogging partnerships to generate positive communications around visiting, recreating and living in Marshalltown, Iowa. Marshalltown boasts numerous murals and a thriving public art scene, a growing trail system, a vibrant downtown district with small shops and a pocket park, and more to explore.
Goals:
- Build positive awareness around Marshalltown as a destination for all ages for recreation, arts and culture, and living.
Timing:
- Bloggers/influencers must be able to visit Marshalltown between June 10 and July 15, 2022 to be considered for this partnership.
Partnership Details:
As part of this partnership, the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce can provide each selected blogger/influencer with:
- One two-night hotel stay for up to 4 people
- $150 in Marshalltown Bucks (good for all Chamber member restaurants and shops on the itinerary, plus others)
- Mileage reimbursement
Itinerary:
Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce will choose one blogger for each of the following itineraries:
- Family Adventure: A weekend visit focused on family-friendly outdoor summer recreation, including area parks, biking/walking trails that connect through various residential communities, murals and public art, food, drinks, bowling at Wayward Social, and other optional stops.
- Couple Getaway: A weekday or weekend visit focused on a quick couples getaway for drinks, dining, recreation (biking/walking trails), and public art.
- Slice of Marshalltown (Singles/Friends): a Saturday itinerary to include Yoga in the Park (weather permitting), a tour of Marshalltown murals, and Grimes Farm.
Note: Itineraries will be further developed once bloggers/influencers have been selected to account for interests, dietary restrictions, etc.
Requirements:
- One- to two-day visit to Marshalltown, Iowa, completed between June 10 and July 15, 2022
- One blog post on posted no later than 30 days after blogger’s visit
- Real-time posting across social media channels during the blogger’s visit
