These emerging leaders take part in a nine-month program that immerses them in a knowledge of different sectors of the community as well as engages them in activities. They go on to hold leadership positions in their companies, serve on non-profit boards, volunteer for community organizations and hold public office. These leaders help make Marshalltown a great place to live, work and do business.

Friday, October 20 to Wednesday, October 26: 2017 Chamber Experience Trip to Panama

Featuring Panama City, Gamboa, and Playa Blanca, this 7-day, 6-night trip, led by Chamber Explorations, is scheduled for Friday, October 20 to Wednesday, October 26, 2017. 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Elmwood Country Club (1734 Country Club Lane)

The Chamber’s annual Business to Business Showcase combines the best of two events: a Business After Hours and a Business Expo. This year’s event, presented by Hy-Vee, will take place Thursday, November 2 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Elmwood Country Club. Open only to employees of Chamber member businesses, this is a great place to meet new people, learn more about other businesses, and enjoy great food and beverages. It’s also the perfect way to check out the latest offerings in holiday food and décor while being surrounded by spirit and cheer. Additional exhibitors include: Art & Frame on Main, Energy 106.7, Iowa Valley Continuing Education, Kiwanis of Marshalltown (Noon), Live on Stage – Marshalltown, and Nourish Healthy Weight & Wellness Center.

Chamber Des Moines Summit & Legislative Day

Date to be determined (takes place in February or March); all day event

The 22nd annual Des Moines Summit and Legislative Day is an opportunity for Chamber members, local area community and business leaders, and community members to travel to the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines for a series of meetings with both Senate and House majority and minority leaders, as well as elected officials. Hosted by the Chamber along with Presenting Sponsor Lennox Industries, participants will discuss with lawmakers those key legislative issues important to the Marshalltown area. Co-sponsored by Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Valley Continuing Education, the group consists of 25 to 30 dynamic individuals who represent a cross section of the community and demonstrate diverse strength sets. These emerging leaders have taken part in a program that immersed them in a knowledge of different sectors of the community as well as engages them in activities. They now go on to hold leadership positions in their companies, serve on non-profit boards, volunteer for community organizations and hold public office. These leaders help make Marshalltown a great place to live, work and do business.
