This annual summer tradition will be held at Elmwood Country Club with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m. Enjoy a great afternoon of golf, followed by dinner and prizes.

Monday, August 21: Chamber Educator Appreciation Breakfast

7:30 a.m. at Marshalltown High School cafeteria (1602 South 2nd Avenue)

The 25th Annual Educator Appreciation Breakfast, presented by Independent Insurance Services and hosted by the Chamber, serves as a kick-off to the 2017-2018 school year for educators, administrators, and support staff in the Marshalltown Community School District, Marshalltown Christian School, and St. Francis Catholic School. Gold Sponsors are Lennox Industries and Pizza Ranch. SagePoint Financial is the Bag Sponsor.

Tuesday, August 22: Chamber Tiger Appreciation Breakfast

9:00 a.m. at Marshalltown Community College’s William “Bill” Faust Student Union (3700 South Center Street)

The 2nd Annual Tiger Appreciation Breakfast, presented by Lennox Industries and hosted by the Chamber, serves as a kick-off to the 2017-2018 academic year for faculty and staff in the Iowa Valley Community College District. Gold Sponsors are HyVee Drugstore and SagePoint Financial.

11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Community Center (709 South Center Street)

The Chamber will host a School Board Candidate Forum on Thursday, August 24 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Fisher Community Center. Meet the five Marshalltown Community School District candidates (for four seats) that will be on the ballot for the September 12 School Board Election.

Wednesday, August 30: Rural-Urban Breakfast

…an “ag-cellent” way to start your day!

7:00 a.m. at Central Iowa Farm Store’s main building (203 Iowa Avenue West)

See how agriculture has changed through the years, and get updated on the role new technology plays in today’s farming operations at this year’s forum. Sponsored jointly by the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce, Marshalltown Rotary Club, and Marshall County Farm Bureau, this event is designed to celebrate the rich agricultural heritage that forms an important part of our local economy. To be held at Central Iowa Farm Store’s main building, (203 Iowa Avenue West), breakfast begins at 7:00 a.m. followed by a 7:30 a.m. presentation. There is no cost at attend, but participants do need an admission ticket which is available at the Chamber office (709 South Center Street).

Wednesday, August 30: Chamber 2018 Experience Trips informational meetings

12:00 Noon and 5:30 p.m. at Fisher Community Center (709 South Center Street)

The Chamber is offering two travel trips in 2018–one an international excursion to Iceland in October and the other a domestic tour of the Pacific Coast in June. A 7-day, 5-night trip will reveal Iceland’s proud people, dramatic contrasts, and spectacular landscapes forged by fire and ice. Likewise, an 8-day, 7-night tour of the Pacific Coast will include scenic stops in Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco, in addition to Mt. St. Helens, Redwood National Park, Avenue of the Giants, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Join us at an upcoming informational session to learn more about both trips: Wednesday, August 30 at 12:00 noon and again at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, August 31 at 8:00 a.m., all at the Fisher Community Center, 709 South Center Street.
