Tuesday, January 15: Business After Hours

4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at The Willows of Marshalltown (2315 Campbell Drive )

The Willows of Marshalltown invites all employees of Chamber member businesses and organizations to Business After Hours on Tuesday, January 15 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Take a tour to see all the amenities of their beautifully designed and decorated new facility. Then enjoy fabulous food and drink prepared by their talented kitchen staff. It’s also a great chance to connect with other professionals or even meet someone new while visiting with The Willows staff and employees of other Chamber members.

Thursday, January 17: Iowa Valley Leadership

All day

Each year, co-sponsors Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Valley Continuing Education select 25 to 30 dynamic individuals who represent a cross section of the community and bring diverse strengths to the team to create the Iowa Valley Leadership Class. These emerging leaders take part in a nine-month program that immerses them in a knowledge of different sectors of the community as well as engages them in activities. They go on to hold leadership positions in their companies, serve on non-profit boards, volunteer for community organizations and hold public office. These leaders help make Marshalltown a great place to live, work and do business.

Friday, January 25: Business Leaders Legislative Luncheon

Representatives from the Iowa Chamber Alliance and U.S. Chamber of Commerce will share their predictions about the 2019 legislative session. Hear updates from John Stineman, Iowa Chamber Alliance Executive Director and John Kirchner, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Regional Director. Join in paying tribute to Marshalltown’s rich manufacturing heritage at this year’s Manufacturers Appreciation Luncheon. Keynote address will be delivered by Debi Durham, Iowa Economic Development Authority Director. Cost is $35 per person or $180 for a table of six. Register online.

Sunday, April 7: Chamber Experience Trip – Great Trains & Grand Canyons

Today culminates nine months of learning and participation for the class members of 2018-2019 Iowa Valley Leadership Class. Co-sponsored by Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Valley Continuing Education, the group consists of 25 to 30 dynamic individuals who represent a cross section of the community and demonstrate diverse strength sets. These emerging leaders have taken part in a program that immersed them in a knowledge of different sectors of the community as well as engages them in activities. They now go on to hold leadership positions in their companies, serve on non-profit boards, volunteer for community organizations and hold public office. These leaders help make Marshalltown a great place to live, work and do business.
