Each year the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a Scholastic Banquet celebrating the successes of the top 5% of graduating seniors from Marshall County high schools: East Marshall, GMG, Marshalltown and West Marshall. This year marks the 50th year for this event. Lennox Industries is the Presenting Sponsor of the evening.

Thursday, May 16: Iowa Valley Leadership

Each year, co-sponsors Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Valley Continuing Education select 25 to 30 dynamic individuals who represent a cross section of the community and bring diverse strengths to the team to create the Iowa Valley Leadership Class. These emerging leaders take part in a nine-month program that immerses them in a knowledge of different sectors of the community as well as engages them in activities. They go on to hold leadership positions in their companies, serve on non-profit boards, volunteer for community organizations and hold public office. These leaders help make Marshalltown a great place to live, work and do business.

Thursday, May 23: Iowa Valley Leadership Class Graduation Day

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Today culminates nine months of learning and participation for the class members of 2018-2019 Iowa Valley Leadership Class. Co-sponsored by Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and Iowa Valley Continuing Education, the group consists of 25 to 30 dynamic individuals who represent a cross section of the community and demonstrate diverse strength sets. These emerging leaders have taken part in a program that immersed them in a knowledge of different sectors of the community as well as engages them in activities. They now go on to hold leadership positions in their companies, serve on non-profit boards, volunteer for community organizations and hold public office. These leaders help make Marshalltown a great place to live, work and do business.

Thursday, June 6: The 2019 Annual Banquet

6:00 p.m. Cocktails, 6:30 p.m. Dinner in Dejardin Hall on the Iowa Valley campus (3702 South Center Street)

The 2019 Annual Banquet, planned for Thursday, June 6, will feature a celebration of the Chamber’s 121 years, recognition of the Iowa Valley Leadership class, highlights from the past year, and a look forward to what 2019/2020 will hold. Social time starts at 6:00 p.m., followed by a 6:30 p.m. dinner and program. Dr. Bill Withers will deliver the keynote presentation titled “The Relationship Era.” A past professor and Leadership Fellow at Wartburg College, he is currently serving on the executive leadership team for Lutheran Church of Hope. He specializes in public relations, customer service, organizational change, and leadership. Bill has both studied and served organizations such as Proctor & Gamble, Ritz-Carlton, Disney, Four Seasons, Starbucks, and Southwest Airlines, as well as being a contributing writer to three books in the areas of leadership and customer service.
