The Main Event is the official branding for Marshalltown’s comprehensive downtown streetscape redesign. This multi-year, community-led transformation will make our downtown more accessible, more attractive, and more connected for everyone.
Construction Phases & Timeline
The Main Event project is divided into three major phases over two years to minimize disruption and keep downtown accessible.
- Phase 1: Center Street (April 7 – August 15, 2025)
- Phase 2: Main Street from Center to 1st Ave (August 15 – December 12, 2025)
- Phase 3.1: Main Street / 1st Ave Intersection (60 calendar days in 2026)
- Phase 3.2: Main Street from 1st Ave to 3rd Ave (Completed by December 11, 2026)
