Mt. Kilimanjaro Presentation
Rev. Richard Graves will give a presentation about his climb of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on Saturday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the library’s meeting rooms.
Graves made the climb with a group of 40 from the Des Moines based organization, Above + Beyond Cancer. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, and the group took one of the most difficult routes to the summit, one that spanned 32 miles. The climb went from 2,600 feet to 19,000 feet.
Richard Graves is priest of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marshalltown. He has previously been a college chaplain at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, and at Occidental College in Los Angeles , CA. He has also served as the Director of Leadership Iowa and as President and CEO of the Wallace House Foundation in Des Moines.
