Mary Potter Kenyon will give a couponing workshop at the Marshalltown Public Library on Sunday, October 29 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the library’s meeting rooms.
Chock full of concrete examples, this two-hour power point workshop includes strategies for reading ads and combining sales with coupons, tips on which products you should never pay full price for, and down-to-earth ideas on saving money on your grocery bill. Attendees will receive a free copy of Coupon Crazy.
In 1969, ten-year-old Mary Potter got hooked on free things when she spotted an offer for free Super Balls on the back of a Cheerios box. Married in 1979, Mary Potter Kenyonlived and breathed a couponing lifestyle for more than 30 years. Lauded as Dubuque’s Coupon Queen in a weekly newspaper column for several years, featured in a couponing documentary, and the author of the book, “Coupon Crazy: The Science, the Savings, and the Stories Behind America’s Extreme Obsession,” Mary shares some fascinating facts about coupons and company premiums before delving into the logistics of how the average shopper can save money today.
