CommUNITY Clean-Up Day
Kids & Families: enjoy working together to make a difference in your community. Participation open to any interested family; please pre-register. We’ll meet at the Y, fan out in teams for litter clean-up of the area around and in-between the Y & the library. We’ll end the event by sharing a meal together (free pizza provided) in the library’s large meeting room.
Please PRE-REGISTER via the library’s Events Calendar (online) or by calling the library at 641-754-5738, ext. 3. (Kids 10 years old and older may register to participate; younger kids are encouraged to register with a parent or caregiver. For registration, list one of the parent/caregiver’s names (for kids younger than 10); there will be prompt in the registration to list the names/ages of children and/or a second parent/caregiver. (If it is raining or other inclement weather, we will post any cancellations on the FB event, contact you from this registration list, or you can call the library at 641-754-5738, ext. 3).
This activity was planned due to a strong interest expressed by youth in the Marshalltown Public Library’s 2017 Summer Reading Program: Build a Better World. For a writing challenge, many local youth recognized that when we all work together to clean up, our community is better for everybody! This is a chance to put that idea into action.
