Brown Bag Bunch – Tropical Biodiversity
James Pease, PHD, will be present to discuss the importance of Tropical Biodiversity. The tropics are places of amazing beauty and biodiversity, filled with plants and animals exotic and fascinating to us. We’ll explore a few of those places in this presentation and talk about why keeping them wild and diverse is important to us. Included will be photos from Costa Rica, Brazil, Ecuador, and more. Dr. James Pease taught interpretation to undergraduate and graduate students at Iowa State University for 24 years. He is now retired from Iowa State University, has emeritus status in the Natural Resource Ecology and Management Department at ISU and is active speaking, writing, consulting, and leading international wildlife trips to Central and South America. He can still be heard on Iowa Public Radio in his wildlife program on “Talk of Iowa”. There is not a fee for this event however pre-registration is required by January 4 before 4:00 p.m. by calling the Conservation Center at 641-752-5490.
