Brown Bag Bunch – Dog Sledding

Since 10th century BCE humans have relied on dogs to help them move through the snow quickly and efficiently. On December 3, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., two local mushers Janet Jensen and Shelley Barron will share their knowledge on dogsledding including information about the dog breeds, the historical importance, sled types and dog configurations. Presenters plan on bring some gear and dog to share with the audience. So if after last winter’s 35 inches of snow had you thinking that dogsledding was the best way to travel, then join us for this fun Brown Bag program. There is no fee for this event however Pre-registration is required by November 29 before 4:00 p.m. by calling the Conservation Center at 641-752-5490, emailing mccb@marshallcountyia.gov, or text 641-758-9777.
