Bike Trail Clean Up

Volunteers are needed to help clean up the new Iowa River Trail. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Ann H. Keyser Trail Head on Wilson Circle.  Please bring work gloves.

The trail begins at Wilson Circle, and proceeds northwest to the end of Summit Street. TRAILS, Inc. is a Marshall County-based not-for profit group managing fundraising, construction and maintenance of the Marshall County portion.

Prior to serving one term as mayor from 2013 to 2017, Lowrance served as a Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce director and then CEO of two local banks. He said Marshalltown is a Central Iowa leader in utilizing private-public partnerships, and the IRT was a perfect example.

Bill Fitzgerald of Marshalltown, TRAILS board member, said: “When completed, the IRT will be one of the nicest recreational trails in the Midwest. It has beautiful scenery, a number of bridges to add personality, and lots of additional things to do and see. There’s truly something for every member of the family!”
