Introduction to Yoga

Yoga is the practice of uniting mind, body, and spirit, through physical movement of poses, breathing, and mindfulness. Yoga practice has been shown to increase strength, balance, flexibility, agility, endurance, mental clarity, and promote an overall feeling of well-being. Attendees can expect to explore: foundational yoga poses, beginner level yoga poses, matching breath with movement, breathing techniques, modification to yoga poses, props used during yoga classes, basics of medication, and putting it all together. Introduction to Yoga will be led by Ben Cooper, a certified YogaFit instructor, and is open to the public and recommended for anyone new to the practice of Yoga. No registration needed.
WHEN: January 13th and 20th, 2018
TIME: 10am-12pm and 1-3pm on both days
LOCATION: MARSHALLTOWN YMCA-YWCA STUDIO 2
The program offered will be the same at all four offerings.
