Battle of the Badges
LifeServe Blood Center is asking community members to show their support for local heroes this July!
LifeServe Blood Center is partnering with local law enforcement, paramedics, firefighters, and other first responders to host special blood drives across the state Monday, July 1 – Wednesday, July 3.
This blood drive aims to honor local first responders while providing much needed blood donations to community hospitals around the July 4 holiday. The need for blood donations increase during the summer, but unfortunately vacations and outdoor activities cause a dip in donations.
The Battle of the Badges blood drive will be held at every LifeServe Blood Center location during their regular business hours July 1-3. Locations in Ames, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Marshalltown, Mason City, Sioux City, and Urbandale will participate. Donors who roll up a sleeve to give the gift of life and show their support will receive a free t-shirt, yummy treats and other gifts while supplies last!
“First responders know just how critical it is to have blood available in emergency situations,” said Danielle West, PR & Marketing Manager at LifeServe Blood Center. “With this special blood drive, local heroes and blood donors who support them can help boost the blood supply during a much needed time.”
Life is a gift. Preserve and protect it on and off the job. For more information on hours and locations or to book your appointment, visit the LifeServe Blood Center Facebook page, lifeservebloodcenter.org or call 800-287-4903.
