Adult Summer Reading Kickoff Party
Summer reading isn’t just for kids! Join us at the Marshalltown Public Library as we begin our Adult Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better World”. Our kickoff party will be on Tuesday, June 20th at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s community meeting rooms.
At the party, you’ll be able to have an ice cream sundae and choose your own toppings at our ice cream sundae bar. The party will also give you the chance to swap recommendations for summer reading with other attendees and get some ideas for books you may want to read during the summer reading program.
This year, we’ll be having a book exchange–bring a book to leave, and you’ll be able to bring a book home with you! If you decide you can’t part with any of your books, we will have a few extras.
We will also discuss all of the fun activities we’ll be having as a part of our adult summer reading program: hear about our film series, coffee with a cop, a Celtic guitar concert, presentations about the Civilian Conservation Corps, Laura Ingalls Wilder, bees, and barn quilts, and more!
Join us for a summer treat and to have some fun discussing your favorite reads! Call the library’s Information Desk for more info at 641-754-5738 ext. 4.
