Food Vendors Meeting
June 24 at 7 pm at Fisher Community Center.
Attendance is mandatory.

Ice will be available from the Marshalltown RAGBRAI organization. The Ice will be conveniently located near the Courthouse Square and Riverview campgrounds. We will be selling sixteen pound (16#) bags for $2 each and that we will have 25,000 pounds on order for that day.

A few things to consider...

1) Five percent of participants are strict vegetarians.

2) Homemade deserts are always a hit.

3) What if you are planning to serve ice cream and the weather is 60°?

4) One food or beverage line should serve 75 people.

5) Ethnic foods seem to sell well.

6) Not all riders drink beer or pop.

7) Go light on ham, brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, and fruit- riders are served these foods in pass-through towns during the day.

8) Plenty of free ice water and shade should be available to people waiting in line.

9) Post signs listing your menu for those not using shuttle services

10) If your garbage isn't typically picked up until the end of the week, call your hauler and ask them to make a special trip Monday or Tuesday before the riders arrive. Garbage accumulates quickly with 16,000 guests in town.

11) Approximately 20% of riders will eat breakfast in Marshalltown Thursday morning. Many will go to local restaurants. You should begin serving breakfast by 4:30 AM.
